Testing systems

Your partner for testing systems

Individual test bench solutions for industry & research: leak test benches, vacuum test benches, high pressure test benches and more.

Test benches – Custom-designed testing systems

A test bench is a technical system used to test components, assemblies, or systems for function, leak tightness, strength, or performance under defined, reproducible conditions. Test benches are the core of industrial quality assurance – they ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with standards before a product is put into service.

Together with our partners, we develop and manufacture test benches for demanding testing tasks in industry, research, and development. Whether leak testing, vacuum testing, high-pressure testing, or hydraulic simulation – our test systems are precisely designed to meet your requirements, entirely developed in Germany, and delivered turnkey upon request.

What is a test bench?

A test bench (also: test facility, test system or test stand) is a specialized device for the controlled testing of technical components. It simulates real operating conditions – pressure, temperature, flow rate, vacuum or mechanical load – and measures defined parameters with high accuracy.

Typical applications of test benches:

  • Quality assurance in series production (100% inspection or sampling)

  • Development and validation of new products and materials

  • Certification according to standards (e.g. DIN, ISO, ASME, AD 2000)

  • Research & simulation of extreme environmental conditions (deep, space, hydrogen)

Modern test benches are fully automated, equipped with PLC control, database connectivity, and digital test documentation. brecom implements test benches ranging from simple manual test stations to fully automated high-pressure testing systems.

Our test benches at a glance

brecom offers a wide range of test bench solutions – standardized or fully customized. All systems are designed, engineered, and manufactured according to your specifications.

Leakage test benches

Leakage testing rigs check components and systems for leaks – an essential step in quality assurance for valves, pipelines, housings, and fittings. brecom builds leakage testing rigs for test media such as air, nitrogen, helium, water, or oil.

Testing procedure:

  • Pressure drop measurement

  • Volume flow method

  • Helium leak test

  • bladder test

Vacuum test benches

Vacuum test benches generate and monitor defined low-pressure conditions. They are used to test components for vacuum suitability, analyze outgassing behavior, or perform leakage tests under vacuum.

Areas of application:

  • Spaceflight & Satellite Technology

  • Electronics manufacturing

  • Packaging industry

  • Research & Development

Flow test benches

Flow test benches measure the volumetric or mass flow rate of liquids and gases through fittings, valves, or piping systems. They are essential for calibrating flow meters and qualifying flow components.

Measured variables:

  • Volume flow rate (l/min, m³/h)

  • Mass flow rate (kg/s)

  • Pressure loss / Kv value

  • Flow coefficient Cv

High-pressure test benches

High-pressure test benches test components at pressures far exceeding the operating pressure – up to the kbar range. They are used for burst pressure tests, pressure retention tests, and fatigue strength tests.

Applications:

  • Burst pressure testing of hoses and pipes

  • Pressure holding test of housings and fittings

  • Cyclic pressure change testing (fatigue tests)

  • Testing according to ASME, PED / DGRL 2014/68/EU

Hydraulic test benches

Hydraulic test benches simulate hydraulic operating conditions for pumps, valves, cylinders, power units, and piping systems. They enable functional tests, performance measurements, and long-term tests under real operating loads.

Test parameters:

  • Volume flow & pressure

  • Efficiency (volumetric, mechanical)

  • Leakage & tightness

  • Temperature behavior

Specialized test bench solutions

In addition to classic test bench types, we implement highly specialized systems for extreme testing conditions and specific test objects.

Hose test benches

Hose test benches are specifically designed for testing hydraulic, industrial, and high-pressure hoses. They perform burst pressure tests, pressure holding tests, and impulse tests according to standards (e.g., EN 856, SAE J517) – manually or fully automatically.

Valve test benches

Valve test benches test shut-off, control, and safety valves for leak tightness, opening pressure, closing behavior, and flow rate. brecom builds valve test benches for all common valve types – from small valves DN 15 to large industrial valves.

Helium test benches

Helium test benches utilize helium as a tracer gas for highly sensitive leakage measurements. Thanks to helium's small molecular size, even the smallest leaks in the ppm or ppb range can be detected. Ideal for medical technology, aerospace, and battery and fuel cell components.

Hydrogen test benches

Hydrogen test benches are designed for the safe handling of H₂ as a test medium – with ATEX-compliant construction, gas warning system and special safety concepts. Applications include hydrogen infrastructure, fuel cell technology and H₂ mobility.

Deep-sea simulators

Deep-sea simulators (pressure chambers/hyperbaric chambers) generate hydrostatic pressure that corresponds to the conditions at great ocean depths – up to several hundred bar water pressure. They are used in offshore engineering, marine research, and for the qualification of underwater components.
